Community Service

One of the biggest parts of scouting is Community Service. Community Service helps a troop in so many ways. It gets other young boys interested in joining our troop. It also is a requirement for the ranks Star, Life and Eagle. It is also a way of saying thanks to the community for helping with our fundraisers. It also teaches life-long lessons of giving back to the community that thousands of young boys learn in Scouting.

The Troop partakes in many Community Service Projects every year. Some of which are annual and some of which are whenever needed. Here is a list of some of the Community Service Projects:

  • West Avon Church Cleanup
  • Rope Bridge or Tower at Avon Day
  • Joshua House Cleanup
  • Helping at Gifts of Love
  • Memorial Day Flags
  • Veterans’ Day Flags
  • Flag Day Flags
  • Many Other Holiday Flags

If there are any Service Projects that the Troop may assist an organization complete, please contact the Scoutmaster at avontroop274@gmail.com.
